Handguards

Hubby added the National Cycle hand guards to my bike. I really like the look of them and so far they work ok. I think we still need to tweak them a bit although I'm not sure how we can. Here are some pics of them.

There is a gap on the right one because of the brake fluid box. I can't move it any closer to close that gap. You can sort of see the difference when you compare how close the inside edge is to the grip. They look awesome I think. They are also easy to install. Well, they did need some modification. Hubby had to cut the ends to make them shorter. I don't think we took any before pics. These were supposed to be the model for the 250 Rebel but when I got the package it said it was for a different bike. It was the right number so there wasn't an error on the part of the ebay seller. It seems to be marked wrong in the National Cycle catalog or something. At any rate, I figured we'd have to modify them somehow. So, it wasn't a big deal really.

Cage

I got in my car yesterday to get ready to go home after work, looked at my odometer and it said 92 miles. I thought to myself, I'd better stop to get gas. Then I remembered I was in my car not on the bike.

I need to get back on the bike and quit driving so much.

Aargh! Winter temps?!!

Well, I've been a wuss and haven't ridden at all this week! It was soooo cold on Monday; I actually had to scrape ice off my car windshield. Black ice on the roads too! Sigh. I am so not ready for cold temps yet. This morning it was still in the low 30s but the high temps are creeping back up the rest of the week. I'm planning to ride tomorrow. It isn't like I haven't ridden in the cold before. It's just that I wasn't ready for it right now. I've got these fancy new hand guards for my bike too. Maybe hubby will put them on this weekend if he doesn't have to work. That would be very nice. I wonder where that really warm balaclava might be.....

I've got some new gloves to try out as well. Got them at my favorite motorcycle gear store - Motogear Outlet in Arvada. I guess, I'll be trying out my new boots as well since I haven't ridden in the cold with them yet.

Windy Ride to Work

I rode in to work via highway 93. Wee-ee it was windy! I was leaning over into the wind and fighting to stay on the rode. And when cars and trucks went by I tucked behind the windshield. That especially helped with the larger trucks like semis. It was fun though nerve wracking. I think it is supposed to be windier as the day goes on. We'll see. Yay!
